Cashew nut testa tannin resin – preparation, characterization and adsorption studies

Adsorption of metal ions and dyes from water by cashew nut testa tannin resin (CATAR) was studied the effects temperature, initial pH, concentration time were investigated. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) reveal effective adsorption processes. Kinetic studies show that CATAR is complex thermodynamic parameters calculated spontaneous endothermic pollutants onto CATAR. The use as an alternative adsorbent proposed considering simulated wastewaters gave excellent removal performances 94.0% (Cd ions), 99.4% (Cu ions) 97.1% (Pb at pH 6 303 K using amount Removal obtained for dye similar conditions 71.1%, 79.2% 86.6%, respectively crystal violet, methylene blue malachite green.
